Join us at Serenity, a place for body and mind
Her Highness Sayyida Basma Al Said was the first one in Oman to launch a special local “Women’s Retreat” program to encourage women to relax and concentrate on self-development and self-appreciation. The first of these retreats was to the Damaniyat Islands in Oman on March 19th 2016 under the theme “Me, Myself and I”. A whole day of fun and light activities in addition to Yoga, meditation and small discussion groups of various life issues i.e, stress management, developing self-esteem and learning how to work well in teams.
Three more successful retreats followed; “More than a Woman” aimed at the professional working woman and the “Clarity” retreat that took the women into a journey of self-discovery to Oman’s southern spot, Salalah. The most recent was to SriLanka “Phoenix” in January 2018 where women learned to appreciate their hidden treasures and unlock their amazing abilities that will enable them to transform into the women they are truly meant to be.
The aim of these specially-designed women retreats is to give the women a chance to explore their hidden beautiful traits and to connect with their inner self to bring harmony and serenity into their normal lives. And what’s more, to find a balance between body and mind leading them to enjoy and live life to the fullest.

CAMPAIGN
(NOT ALONE)
Not Alone Oman, is the first of it’s kind Mental Health Awareness Initiative in the Sultanate. This awareness initiative was created by Janab Sayyida Basma Al Said in 2014 to spread this message and with the help of a hard working group was even able to conceptualize and create the NOT ALONE AWARENESS VIDEO. The aim of “Not Alone” campaign is to raise more awareness about mental health disorders and how to deal with patients suffering from such disorders.
The initiative took the form of a video clip in both Arabic and English and introduced many disorders that could affect our mental state during our life time. The video also featured contributions from prominent public figures and personalities that added more value and strength to the message being relayed which is “You are not alone in your suffering, we are with you’.
Not Alone has gone on to host many events to raise awareness and to promote this cause. Some of the events hosted and conducted by Not Alone and Whispers of Serenity Clinic are:

iCan summer club for teenagers
At Whispers of Serenity Clinic we believe that mental health is of great importance and thus, proposed a summer Teen Club to which we believe will benefit students immensely in preparing them for the upcoming school year, and in no doubt influence them positively in their day-to-day lives.
In this summer club we intend to teach them how to build their leadership skills in order to broaden their vision for the future and build an outstanding army of pioneers, by teaching them how to relieve their stress and anxiety through a verity of exercises.
iCan summer club is also an exciting experience in which these teenagers can explore new skills, talk about things that matter to them, building self-esteem, how to deal with pressure, stress and other topics affecting them on a daily basis. And in doing so, they will be better tuned in with themselves and lead a healthy and prosperous life.
The first iCan summer club started in 2016 with our in-house therapist Noora Al Akhzami leading the workshop. The second was followed in 2017 with both Sayyida Basma Al Said and Noora Al Akhzami facilitating the program.
I am Bride
A workshop in Arabic specifically designed for brides-to-be conducted by our chief counselor and psychotherapist Sayyida Basma Al Said. The first version was held in 2017 with a good turnout of women who are eager to start their marriage life on the right path. Issues like dealing with the in-laws to how to choose your wedding dress, cake and make-up were all discussed in the workshop in the hope that it will allow these brides-to-be to discover themselves more and learn how to adapt to that exciting phase of their lives..
